A major focus of 4BioDx (Lille, France) is the development and commercialization or reagents and ELISA kits to measure proAKAP4 concentration in semen. proAKAP4 is an indispensable molecule during spermatogenesis and any modification of proAKAP4 expression during spermatogenesis or modification in its metabolism will have consequences on sperm motility, hyper motility, sperm capacitation and then fertility. Consequently, measurement of proAKAP4 in sperm is an increasingly promising approach to evaluate semen quality prior to in vitro fertilization in both laboratory animals and commercial livestock.
