CARD HyperOva® (Japanese Patent No. 5927588) is an ultra-superovulation reagent that induces ovulation at higher efficiency when compared with the conventional superovulation induction method (PMSG-hCG method). Following the conventional method, we were only able to obtain approximately 20 ova per mouse (C57BL/6J) on average; using CARD HyperOva®, however, we can obtain as many as 3-4 times more ova.

CARDHyperOva® F.D.is a hyperovulation reagent for use in reproductive engineering. It was developed at the Center for Animal Resources and Development (CARD), Kumamoto University. CARD HyperOva ® F.D. is freeze-dried to improve storage stability.

What is the difference between CARD HyperOva® and CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX)?
CARD HyperOva® F.D. is a freeze-dried formulation of CARD HyperOva® developed for improved storage convenience. While CARD HyperOva® must be stored at -80°C to -20°C, CARD HyperOva® F.D. can be stored at 4°C before reconstitution.

Does CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX) contain fibrin?
No. Fibrin is removed before lyophilization.

Does CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX) have an expiration date?
Yes. CARD HyperOva® F.D. has a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture. Please use it before the expiration date.

How do I store CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX) for long-term use after reconstitution?
For long-term storage, reconstituted CARD HyperOva® F.D. should be aliquoted into single-use portions and stored frozen at -20°C or below. Thaw an aliquot before use. CARD HyperOva® F.D. can be aliquoted and frozen ONE TIME after reconstitution without loss of superovulation activity.
Note: Superovulation activity has been confirmed to be maintained for approximately 3 months after freezing following reconstitution.

Can I store reconstituted CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX) in a refrigerator?
No. You should not store reconstituted CARD HyperOva® F.D. in a refrigerator, as refrigerated storage may reduce its activity.

At what temperature should I reconstitute CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX)?
CARD HyperOva® F.D. should be reconstituted at room temperature (typically 15–25°C).

Are the activity and dosage of CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX) the same as those of CARD HyperOva® (Cat. No. KYD-010-EX)?
Yes. CARD HyperOva® F.D. has the same activity as CARD HyperOva®, and the recommended dosage is also the same (0.1–0.2 mL per mouse). In addition, comparable superovulation performance to CARD HyperOva® can be expected.

I would like to reduce the dosage per mouse; is it possible to adjust the concentration by changing the volume of the reconstitution solution for CARD HyperOva® F.D. (Cat. No. KYD-015-EX)?
The concentration of CARD HyperOva® F.D. can be modified by adjusting the volume of the supplied reconstitution solution, allowing the dosage per mouse to be regulated within the range of 0.05 to 0.2 mL.
