Closing the Gap in Cell and Gene Therapy Manufacturing

Closing the gap in cell and gene therapy manufacturing

Webinar Date: October 26th, 12pm EST

Luka Fajs, CEO Bio-ReCell

Webinar on cell and gene therapy manufacturing with speaker Luka Aja.

Abstract

T-cell activation is often a rate-limiting step in cell and gene therapy manufacturing. Conventional magnetic bead-based activation requires a separate debeading step before the product can move downstream. That step adds processing time, introduces contamination risk, and creates extra QC burden, which can delay batches and complicate scale-up to GMP.

This session presents a magnetic-free alternative. Luka Fajs, CEO of Bio-ReCell, will show how a particle-based activation technology removes the need for magnetic separators and debeading entirely, producing T-cell products free of detectable residuals while fitting into existing culture workflows. Attendees will learn how eliminating this bottleneck step can meaningfully cut processing and QC timelines, reduce manufacturing costs, and support scale from early research through GMP production.

Key Takeaways

  • Magnetic bead-based T-cell activation requires a debeading step that adds time, contamination risk, and QC burden to every batch.
  • A magnetic-free, particle-based activation approach eliminates that step, delivering residue-free T-cell products without added workflow complexity.
  • Removing debeading can cut processing and QC timelines by up to nine days per batch while supporting scale from research through GMP manufacturing.
