Product Description
Gold nanoplates are aqueous dispersions of plate-like, triangular gold nanoparticles. They exhibit a sharp optical absorption profile and a vivid blue color. The peak absorption wavelength of gold nanoplates is determined by their particle size and aspect ratio (maximum length to thickness). Generally, as the aspect ratio increases, the absorption peak shifts toward longer wavelengths.
Features
- Aqueous dispersion of disk-shaped gold nanoparticles
- Displays a vivid blue color due to localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR)
- When applied to diagnostic reagents, gold nanoplates are expected to enable highly sensitive detection and help reduce antibody costs
- Shape: Triangular, plate-like (disk-shaped) gold nanoparticles
Shape
Gold nanoplates are triangular nanoparticles in the shape of plates (disc-shaped).
Absorption Characteristics
Gold nanoplates exhibit a sharp absorption profile, and their aqueous dispersions appear vividly blue. The absorption peak is influenced by particle size, aspect ratio (maximum length/thickness), and the dielectric constant of the surrounding environment.
