Product Description

Dermatan sulfate (DS) is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan composed of repeating disaccharide units of N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc) and D-glucuronic acid (GlcUA) or L-iduronic acid (IdoUA). DS is abundant in skin, where it exists as unbranched polysaccharide chains covalently linked to the core proteins of proteoglycans. The Sodium Dermatan Sulfate (NaDS) in this product is purified from porcine skin and contains at least 80% of disaccharide units bearing 4-O-sulfation of GalNAc.
Each vial contains 3 mg of lyophilized NaDS. The average molecular weight is 5x10^3-10x10^3. The attached Certificate of Analysis provides the actual measured values for each product specification including the disaccharide unit composition and the average molecular weight.
