Product Description

Chondroitin sulfate (CS) is a sulfated glycosaminoglycan composed of repeating disaccharide units of N-acetyl-D-galactosamine (GalNAc) and D-glucuronic acid (GlcUA). CS is abundant in cartilage, where it exists as unbranched polysaccharide chains covalently linked to the core proteins of proteoglycans. The Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate E (NaCS-E) in this product is purified from squid cartilage and contains at least 50% E-type structural disaccharide units (4 and 6O-sulfations of GalNAc). Each vial contains 3 mg of lyophilized NaCS-E. The average molecular weight is 10x10^3-20x10^3. The attached Certificate of Analysis provides the actual measured values for each product specification including the disaccharide unit composition and the average molecular weight.
