Kakshine® is a novel DNA staining reagent based on a pyridocyanine backbone. It exhibits high selectivity for DNA and excellent cell permeability, making it suitable for staining not only animal cells but also plant cells. Additionally, depending on the concentration used, it can selectively stain mitochondrial DNA. Kakshine® is a registered trademark of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System. This product is based on the research findings of Professor Yoshikatsu Sato of the Institute of Transformative Bio-Molecules at Nagoya University, part of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, and is provided by Cosmo Bio Co., Ltd.
Features
Low background
Extremely high DNA selectivity
Cell permeability that allows staining of the nuclei of not only animal cells but also plant cells
It stains not only nuclei but also mitochondrial and chloroplast DNA, and can be stained differently from nuclear DNA depending on the concentration used.
Low toxicity and low phototoxicity due to the use of long wavelengths
Three types of Kakshine® series are available for use in a wide range of wavelengths
