M-GGMC-1 is a monoclonal antibody (IgM) that recognizes mucin produced and secreted by gastric glandular mucus cells. The epitope is a sugar chain containing GlcNAc a-bonded to the non-reducing end, and it has been shown that the tissue staining property is almost the same as that of Paradoxical concanavalin A staining (type III).
