A 1kb DNA Ladder is suitable for use as a molecular weight standard (1,000 bp-10,000 bp) for agarose gel electrophoresis. A 5,000 bp fragment has increased intensity as a reference band.

A mixture of 10 double-stranded, blunt-ended DNA fragments ranging from 1,000bp to 10,000bp in exactly 1,000bp increments. The 5,000bp band has increased intensity relative to the other bands. The 1kb DNA Ladder was dissolved in 10mM Tris-HCl (pH7.4).
