Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), a type of somatic stem cell, can be isolated from sources such as adipose tissue, bone marrow, umbilical cord, and dental pulp. MSCs are known for their excellent self-renewal capacity and their multipotency, allowing them to differentiate not only into bone, cartilage, and fat, but also into liver cells. Additionally, they possess immunomodulatory functions and have the ability to accumulate at sites of injury or disease, where they secrete various cytokines and growth factors, thereby promoting tissue regeneration and repair.
