 VAC Visceral Adipocytes (rats)

Stromal-Vascular fraction from rat mesenteric adipose tissue VAC Visceral adipocytes (rat)

Manufacturer: Cosmo Bio Co., Ltd. Sapporo Division

VAC (Visceral Adipocyte) is a product that enables the cultivation of differentiation-inducing system of visceral adipocytes, which was originally developed as an epoch-making tool indispensable for the development of lifestyle-related disease therapeutic drugs and preventive foods.

Background

Excessive accumulation of visceral fat is the main factor in the development of lifestyle-related diseases such as diabetes. VAC (Visceral Adipocyte) has made it possible to elucidate the mechanism of visceral fat accumulation from the visceral adipocyte culture level.

Although the development of functional foods and therapeutic drugs that suppress the excessive accumulation of visceral fat has been eagerly desired, no differentiation induction system for "visceral adipocytes" in a culture system has been developed so far. Therefore, there were many unclear points, such as what mechanism causes visceral fat accumulation, which cells form visceral adipocytes, and what processes lead to early differentiation and induction of differentiation. .
The VAC produced by our cell culture technology has established a visceral adipocyte differentiation induction system, making it possible to elucidate the mechanism of visceral fat accumulation that causes lifestyle-related diseases from the visceral adipocyte culture level.

Please use it for the search for therapeutic drugs for obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis, the development of foods to prevent lifestyle-related diseases, and the functional testing of anti-obesity functional foods.
It is a cell group containing mesenteric preadipocyte cells and vascular endothelial cells collected from rat mesentery, and a culture solution product optimized for mesenteric adipocyte differentiation developed by our company. It can be used for research on all processes from preadipocytes to mature adipocytes.

Intended use

  • Exploring therapeutic agents for obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and arteriosclerosis
  • Development of preventive food for lifestyle-related diseases, functional test of anti-obesity functional food

Features

  1. Differentiation inducers such as indomethacin, dexamethasone, and PPAR-γ agonists were not added.
  2. Natural lipids are added as visceral adipocyte differentiation inducers.
  3. We use serum from which visceral adipocyte differentiation inhibitory factor (VAI) activity has been removed.
  4. More than 80% of the cells differentiate into visceral adipocytes.

Experimental example: Browning of white (visceral) adipocytes

We investigated the browning of white fat using visceral fat cells (product number VAC01C).
As a result of adding noradrenaline to visceral adipocytes, the UCP-1 gene increased rapidly within 6 hours, and UCP-1 protein expression was also confirmed. This showed browning of white adipocytes in the culture system, suggesting that visceral adipocytes have a thermogenic mechanism.
