Collagen-containing products with catalog numbers beginning with "KOU" require an Import Permit.
Cosmo Bio ships these products directly to customers from our Tokyo office. These products are manufactured in Japan using raw material from cows raised in BSE-free countries (Australia or New Zealand). Nevertheless, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requires the recipient (consignee) of collagen products processed in Japan to have a valid import permit. Therefore, Cosmo Bio will need a copy of your import permit before we can process your order. Applying fora permit is not difficult, but does take time (typically 3-6 weeks) and requires payment of a fee. Permits are valid for one year. Detailed information on applying for a USDA Import Permit using VS Form 16-3 can be viewed here. Note that you may file electronically or manually. Most applicants will find it more convenient to apply manually. Once you receive your permit from the USDA, please sign it and send us a copy with your order.
