Antibody
The enzyme gamma-glutamyl
transpeptidase (GGT) was recently identified as a novel
bone-resporbing factor that stimulates osteoclast formation.
In a mouse model of CIA (chronic induced arthritis), mice
treated with anti-GGT monoclonal antibody AGT-3 showed reduced
osteoclasts and reduced bone erosion (PMID: 17680722.) Both
clones AGT-3 and AGT-1 are recommended for GGT detecton
in human, mouse, and rat by western blotting, while clone
AGT-1 has also proven useful for GGT detection by
immunohistochemistry.
